Today I have done some sketchbook work, had my friends help me on a few question that I had. This will be last entry on this blog as it is now half term so all I have to now is set up my Exhibition. I will still be doing work through out the holiday and I will still keep up to date with my diary. I have really enjoyed this project even if it was really stressful.

Back in the dark room and spending time on my sketchbook.

Went to a family funeral today.

Still in the dark room trying to get some good prints done, at least I have worked out the right exposure on the set of photos I have, now I can work on getting the right contrast on it. The problem I am finding is that there is no one to ask advice for so I have to waste my time and money trying to work out what to do properly.

Spent the whole day in the dark room trying to get some good prints before the end of the project… slightly tired.

I have now ordered my book online with a company called blub which was highly recommended and they can get the print to me in enough time ….success

Today I finished my final print book already to be printed however I still need t find a company that will do the prints in time. STRESSED….

I have contacted five different printing companies and all are saying that they cant get the book done in time.

Played rounder with the course and then went home now doing some sketchbook work. Finding the sketchbook work really tedious.

Came in to collage today to speak to Shawn, was nice to get some fresh ideas but in all fairness he was talking out of his butt. I don’t think that I am going to take any ideas form him. I did get a lot of work done though.

I have spent the whole day in the dark room again today to try and get all of the photos done that I ad done on Friday. This is really getting on my nerves that are here for so long but I know t hat it is developing my skills in the dark room.

So far I love my work, however it is a very depressing subject to be doing when you feel so strongly for the animals as I do. Which is making me not liking my work as much. Also I am looking at my photos so much that I don’t see any interest in them any more, which is sad.

Today I did plan to go to Noah’s arc farm but I forgot that it is closed today. So I went home and did some work on my print book.

Now sat in the sun with my laptop trying to work out how this book is going to look. It is taking a very long time and a lot of effort.

I am now seeing both sides of the arguments to zoos. The bad is that there is not enough space, humans still don’t understand the needs of these animals and it is very stressful on animals being kept in the same place with lots of people gazing in to their home. However there is a side of conservation and education, but I still don’t think that it is up to the right standard yet.

Today after study skills I started my photo print book whilst Oli T looked through my photos, and helped me evaluate some of them. Then I went down to the dark room to experiment with some more techniques.

Today I went to the Bristol zoo to take some photos, I really think my skills are getting a lot better because I am now thinking about the shoot a lot more and the photos are coming out better. Also whilst I was waiting for the sea lions feeding I was talking to a man that turned out to be the chairman for the Wales national trust so we both had a lot to talk about when it came to the conservation of zoos. His over all view was that he hated the hole thing, however he could see the points for having them as it is educational and could increase animal population, however he still disagreed and he thought they should be band. This talk with is man realy open up my views to zoos.

Today we had our mid way evaluation where we all talked about each other’s work to see what we think they should do. This helped a lot because it did give me some more ideas on how to develop my photography techniques. For the rest of the day I spent in the dark room trying to develop my filmstrips.

Today I spent the hold day at Noah’s arc zoo so that I can get the photos that I want. I went with my new camera and a 3200-iso film so that I could some very grainy photos like Britta Jaschinski. After today I think the photos have come out really great but I will have to wait until I develop them.

Haven’t done any works today because I have been at my normal volunteering so that I can get into Falmouth, also I do enjoy it. Today we had to rebuild a stone wall, for more info look at my diary.

Started work at 8am because I could not sleep; I did some work on my promotional work, which I am finding easy because I am finding it very interesting. I have now created the business card that I want back and front, now I am going to sleep for the rest of the day.

I started off the day by working from home, mainly looking at some of my photos that I had already taken. Then i went to the bank to sort of some finance at 10:30, then headed home; worked to about 3:30, then set up my student finance and my accommodation. i was planing to visit the zoo however i had run out of time as the last people in is at 5:00

Got a lift today which was grate because it meant that I could do some work before I went to collage. I am now finding out how much work is needed to complete this course, need some more good photos. Computers where down again today which meant that I did my printing at home. Voted for the first time today and they got their asses kicked o well (lib dem.)

I have been to the zoo today, this time I took a 35mm film camera and I have found out how hard it is to only take 36 shots. Compared to a digital the difference's are amazing, however iI have found that you cant get the same quality contrast from a digital.

I went in to collage today to talk to my tutor and my friends about my work. The way that I have done this is to print off a load of photos in black and white, then I pined them up on my wall so we could all see the my work. Then we would talk about the photos I have taken and wright with red pen the comments we thought about them. ie good use of rule of thirds.

For the first part of today i am doing work form my bed ...arrrrr because i have a large hang over ... not a good night. any way still doing some work and the plan is to g up to the zoo this after noon at about 1:00 to get some more photos.

All of the family are around today, from last night and we had a good day at the zoo I think I have a photo that looks quite good. After every one leaves I will get a chance to do about 3-4 hrs work done which is good. Also tonight is the night of my gig at the Louisiana .... whooooooo party :)

Bristol Zoo

This weekend the family is down to celebrate my birthday, this means I haven't done as much work as I would have like to have done, however i am now going to get a chance to get some sketch book work done. Anyway today the plan is to go the bank to put in some money then go to the zoo with the family on the bus. Hopefully I will get some good photos.
